Desc: New Men: Directed by Samuel Cox. New Men (first cut)* chronicles the life of Holy Cross Hermitage, a Russian Orthodox monastery in West Virginia where 28 men, most them American converts, have renounced the world to follow a 1,700 year old Christian monastic tradition. * Editing is still underway. The narrative of the monastic who takes final vows is still in progress and an interview with him has been approved and will be shot in January. His story will be introduced in the beginning of the film and will culminate in his taking vows to live in the monastery until death. An additional scene of Fr. Benedict (the beekeeper) interacting out in the world (i.e. going grocery shopping, getting gas etc.) will be filmed in January.
